Your mirrors?
Amazing, you learn something everyday. I never knew those mirrors existed on 91 suburbans. Went to google and searched for images of 1991 suburbans and saw several with those style mirrors. I was just wondering how those would look color coded to match the body color on a something like a square body SWB. May be interesting.

This one is color matched to the flames.... This is an old show coverage photo but the mirrors are red.

Re: Crewella - My '81 crew cab, short bed 1/2 ton
I did snag up a tailgate bevel, rear cab trim, overhead console and a roof rack. I think I'm gonna shorten a Suburban roof rack and put it on my crew cab. Ill post some pics before I drill any holes. I think it will look good!
Unfortunately no actual progress. I got married 2 weeks ago and up until then I was working on my kitchen and painted my house. I'm hoping to get some done on Crewella in the next week. Thanks for the the poke... I needed it!

I see the truck at shows in the NW but I'm not sure who he is. I bet he made that grill.... if he didn't it would be easy.

I figured out he is from one of the California chapters of Freaks of Nature. I assume his last name is Perez.

Your truck is coming along nice. When the body was sitting on tires and boards, I thought..."that is where it should sit."
The grill on that white truck looks to be a tight mesh by that front picture. The front of the truck looked ok, but the back I just don't like those tails at all.

Actually, Perez refers to Pete Perez who painted the truck PPG Chevy White, and also the flames in Blue Chameleon. The owner of the truck [1973 Chevrolet] is Mike Johnson. Mike is the one who hand fabbed the grille out of stainless steel.

I shortened down a Suburban roof rack and I 99% sure I'm gonna add it. Any opinions?

I'm not sure about the roof rack I would probly like it better if it were black or even better I would like maybe a 30x40 ragtop

I'm not feeling the rack unless you are going for a TIKI/Surfer kinda theme.
I do like the rack itself, just depends on the style you are going for.... It's yours so you have to make the choice

Re: Crewella - My '81 crew cab, short bed 1/2 ton
I'm going for a factory but dropped look. I'm adding all the factory trim like it came from the factory. Eventually it will be bagged with big wheels.
Rag top would be cool... but it rains in Oregon too much for that. I sought out a stainless steel rack to compliment the drip rails, tailgate bezel, cab trim, etc. Thanks for the input!

Re: Crewella - My '81 crew cab, short bed 1/2 ton
I think it looks pretty good. When you mentioned it before, I thought I liked the idea. I think you would have to get the rest of the truck put together before you mount it just to get a better look at it all. But I think I like it.
