Accessory Power?

I thought the last stereo I had just didn't have memory but now I realize my 12V accessory wire is shot for some reason. How do I rewire a new one to keep the settings on my head unit? I can't turn the key back for power either if that affects it?

Get a test light or volt meter and find a constant hot. Don't forget to fuse it..

your saved settings on your deck dont run threw the acc wire on the deck they run threw the constant 12v which under your dash on the colum theres some thicker gage wires should be 2-3 red ones those are constant you can use any of the following wires for a acc orange, brown or pink id go with the pink wire but if you want it to go with the key going backwards it should be the orage wire get a cheap meter and test them

Cant he just run it to the fuse box where it read acc.?

problem with jumping it off a fuse if lets say you jump it off your lights or something else the fuse thats in the spot is rated for a what ever amps that is going to be drawing so it could blow the fuse because your adding more of a draw to it then you say why not just put a bigger fuse in it to handle the draw by doing this you could fry what ever else is on the line if it needs to blow at 10amp and you put a 20amp as a replacment its going to take longer to blow and will heat up or burn the wires and possibly catch fire or fry what ever else is attached to the fuse

sorry read that wrong yea you could use the acc line off the fuse box thought it said "why not jump off another fuse" but ill leave the rest of the post just incase any one else wishes to know
