the axle he offered you is the same as the one you have, there is no difference, all you need to do change your front hubs to a single rear wheel style

you tear down the front and swap out the hubs, probably a weekend job, start to finish, if you have all the parts you need

it would be just as easy to keep it 8 lug. they make 8 lug 20s that will bolt right up

If interested pm me.,I live about 20miles west of Charleston SC. It's a 4.10 and will bolt right up as everyone has said. As far as the front, you can get rotors anywhere that go right on without the pain of changing everything

well you can do one of 2 things use different fron and rear offsets or find some 8 lug spindels from a 3/4 1 ton srw

Re: 1982 Chevy Crew Cab Build! Need Help

call autozone or what ever parts company and ask for front rotors for your year none dually one ton truck. Your bearings, which I'd change, seals and all are the same. Pack bearings, new pads and seal and go. No rotor changes or anything

Re: 1982 Chevy Crew Cab Build! Need Help

seats would be simple dash and door panels would be hard to pointless with all the wiring. id keep it long bed just becuase to me nothing looks better than a cclb srw plus the bed you have could be patched where the dually fenders where and your good to go

The rear axle I have is not the same as a dually,it's not as wide. It's out of a 87 3500 3+3 swd 4x4. I'm turning it into a dually that's why I even brought it up.

the axle should be the same if not wider for a srw

the cab and chassis trucks though had skinner axels

yeah. i dont really care about the door panels. i actually like the older door panels.. i saw a 72 with newer interior on here somewhere ad i liked the look.(would like to see better interior pics of that if anyone can find any) for now imma have the original recovered in a grey color to go along with the white color i have planned.. i do like the lb but i also like the shortbed. if its really hard to change ill pass.

well you would have to cut the frame weld it up

shorten the driveshaft, swap beds or section and weld up,change fuel tanks, mod exhast fuel brake lines wiring etc...

as for interior id change up to newer seats

If that's so why then wen I put dually rims on this swd axle it set in alot more than on the dually truck I have setting right next to it? Same factory rims and tires.
