Paint or not

Does the door latch on the outside of the door get painted or does it stay in metal?

Re: Paint or not

The latch in the door and the catch bolted on the jamb were both originally unpainted on my 65.

I was concerned about the piece on the door itself. Sounds like both are unpainted.

Re: Paint or not

I painted both of mine, but what do YOU want it to be? The paint will chip off where it contacts but the rest will stay.
