68-72 stepside fenders for sale, no spare cut out
I have a friend who works for a local electric utility co-op who stopped by the other day. He saw that I have accumulated a lot of 71-72 Chevy trucks/ parts. He was looking at my latest, a swb stepside and said "They have a bunch of fenders like that at work in one of the pole barns, do you want them?" I said "How many is "a bunch"?" His reply was "probably three or four pairs". I almost dropped my teeth! He said that the co. bought the trucks, pulled the fenders off, then installed utility bedsides that had tool boxes, then stored these away in the rafters for over 30 yrs.! I had to buy them, but I got a fair deal. the fenders themselves are the same for a SWB or LWB, only the steps are different. I am going to pass this great fortune on, and give my fellow board members first shot before I post them for sale on Ebay or locally. I sold one pair on this forum. I still have three sets. $300 each for a driver side, $200 each for a pass side, $400 for a pair. There is surface rust on the inside of the fenders. These fenders are NICE!!! There is no sign of Bondo or other body work ever being done to any of the fenders. The fenders are almost all in the same condition, very very good. No shipping, but I can work with you if you are in Texas. I don't want to ship these because it is such a hassle to try and pack these so that they don't get damaged in transit. I really don't want the responsibility of dealing with damaged parts. If you can have someone come and get them as they are (loose) and take it from there, I am willing to help.

" ??? i didn't think I was being an "#$%^&*hole"... You have no idea how many people contact me saying they had a truck like this in the day, do I have "XXX", etc. Can you find Austin on a map? Can you punch "Leander, Texas" into Google and hit enter? I thought I answered the question nicely enough, just pointing out the obvious as well. I guess if you still want to know, "CENTRAL TEXAS". (That's right in the middle, since I am already an "#$%^&*hole". I guess I will leave it up to powerdriver 1958 to edit for content. My email notification did not get edited.

It's not my for sale thread but, yes they did come off of some long step sides, based on the steps. But the fenders are the same for long or short.

Thats alright WIDESIDE72. I didn't think you would be but thought I would ask anyway. I want a set of these fenders, I'm just not sure when I would have the time to drive down and get them. Glad I could help you out. I am sure you will be more than happy with the fenders. I picked out the best two out of the six. They are SMOOOOTH! They did have turn signal housings and lenses, but no wiring or sockets. Post a few pics when you get the fenders installed! |

My aunt and uncle are coming to Lubbock to visit in a couple weeks and bringing the fenders, so when I get them installed I will post some pics. Guess I need to start a build thread lol.

Got my fenders a couple weeks ago and they look great! Heres a pic of them. Theyre just put on with a couple bolts right now. Need to get a new set of fender bolts to correctly install them
