Research help needed

Please E-MAIL me items that don't seem to be reproduced for the '73-'91 Blazers.

I don't think the '73-'76 door is done, or the correct '73-'74 and '75-'76 grille....what else is needed? E-Mail to jon@tri-proautomotive.com

I think the back panels on the inside are not made anymore.

I doubt that you would have much interest in the tiny minority of us who own Blazer Chalets, but with only one or two exceptions, every one of the nearly 70 members in our Yahoo forum that own either a Chalet or GMC Casa Grande needs a complete set of new vinyl camper decals, and nearly every one of us need a new 'bezel' that goes around the outside furnace grille.

But, a more marketable and perhaps easier-to-produce item that also might in demand for regular Blazer owners is the optional front spare carrier. I don't need one, but a bunch of the other Chalet guys do.

Basically a mandatory option for the campers (the Chevy Chalet brochures oddly don't show 'em), because there was no room in the back anymore for the spare.

GM might have offered different versions, however the Craigslist one (left) might also be aftermarket. Mine on the right is shown upside down right after I painted it, the bracket next to the tape measure is itself upside down.

I'll try searching to see if that Craigslist one could be aftermarket. It looks like the actual tire mount is different from yours.

I would guess the upolstered(sp?) panels that are on each side of the inside.
They start just benind the door and go al lhe way to the tailgate.
They have a "cutout" that clears the wheel wells.
I believe they have ashtrays on them for the rear passengers and I think I have seen some with either speaker grills or a vent in the rear most section.

But a picture would answer a lot of questions...

73-75 rocker boxes are not reproduced. Those would be a godsend to people restoring one, or cutting the roof on a later model.

I am going to guess 73-75 as the rocker box bracing wasn't needed once they went to a half top.

I know with a lot of Blazers that I have see the panel that the original three point seatbelts were bolted to in behind the quarter panel were just about always pretty bad. I also think the inner rockers for the later models 76-on could use a lot of improvement.

Just like the 67-72 market the later 73-up body style should see some overall improvement in the quality of parts soon I hope.

My 76 has the rocker boxes, they were bad and I ended up making my own due to unavailability. I also agree with everything that wildmanaaron said. I had to piece together my inner rockers from different pieces that did not fit right and the area on the drivers side that the lower belt bolts to was gone.

I have never had a 76, so I don't know for sure. I do remember Russ's thread about making his. I do know that after the top was cut off of my 77, it really needed them, though.
