Audiovox Universal Cruise Control Any Users??

I wanted cruise control on my 78. I did what lots of people would do I got on line. I ran across an audiovox universal vaccum cruise control kit. It has all the cruise options, linkage, and a magnet that goes on the driveshaft. Has any one used this kit before?? Good , Bad , Ugly????
How is the magnet mounted to the drive shaft. Thanks

Never used the vaccum version but have used the electronic ones before and never had any problems.

I've installed a couple of these kits and they work just fine, The magnet is held in place by both epoxy/glue and plastic wire ties. I have a kit on the shelf right now I bought for my Jeep but will most likely put it on my 74.....

Re: Audiovox Universal Cruise Control Any Users??

I had one my Dakota. It needs a vacuum backup source for small or tired engines.

Look at www.rostra.com. I have one of their vacuum units. The signal generator is installed between the cable and speedo cable. Now they have an electronic version. It's about twice the price of the AudioVox systems but worht every penny. The sytem will pull the throttle to the floor if necessary to pick or maintain speed. It will downshift my tranny like a current model truck with cruise!!
