Heater Motor ??

I have a 80 C10 with a/c when i turn the ignition to the run position I hear the fan running. The heater/air condition controls are in the off position. When I turn the key off naturally the fan stops. Do I have a bad blower resistor, or bad control, or is there something else??

Yo! Chevy designed the fan to run on low, at anytime the key is on, for ventilation. I rigged mine with a toggle to turn it off. Nothing wrong with your truck.

Re: Heater Motor ??

I cut the yellow wire at the blower motor resistor on my '80 (I saw the tip on here).

no more low, but I don't need no stinking low.....the silence is golden

Re: Heater Motor ??

Thank you for the info... Next question. Why does my a/c compressor kick on when I have it on defrost mode???

Re: Heater Motor ??

Most all do.
A/C takes the moisture out of the air, so it is benefical when you use the defroster, it also helps de-fog
