Need Help Identifying a Bumper Guard
Just bought this front bumper guard, just the one. Seller said it's oem off a 70 truck and I think he is correct. I believe that 67-68 only came with the smaller all metal ones that you can now buy repros of. I believe these are the optonal 69-70 versions with the smooth rubber pad. I believe the 71-72 versions have a design in the face of the rubber pad. I know GEM makes one now and I think that's the version LMC carries for $70 but it's not an exact match to any of the oem ones. Let me know if this is all correct. I now need to obtain a matching one. Should be fun trying to find one. Thanks.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Bumper Guard
The outline of the bumper cutout looks correct for a 69-72 bumper. Classic Parts also sell them but no picture in the catalog to compare. It wouldn't do you much good anyways as they're only sold in pairs. I was wondering if the rubber version they sell is a match for yours.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Bumper Guard
The low all chrome ones were 67-70.But,that style was also made. The GM accessory guards are shaped different from the one you have. The sides aren`t scooped out as much on the upper sides. Some of the GM guards were smooth and some had the ribs. There are several dierent styles.I have some singles and I`ll check mine against yours.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Bumper Guard
I have seen both styles- the type you have (I have the same on my 71 and the style Tim is going to have a picture of- not as much cut out at the top (looks chunky compared to this the type you pictured) The chunky type is def. original dealer stuff. I have seen the style you have on some trucks that were original but the guards may have been added at some point.
