Looking at a 1985 CUCV Blazer
I'm looking at a 1985 CUCV Blazer. Was airforce, been painted white pretty much stock, it next belonged to a city police department. Body is straight and rust free (mostly). 6.2 V8 Diesel 4x4, auto.
Interior is avg to below avg. Doesn't run, they claim the injector pump is bad. Any ideas on what would be a good price to pay for this? Thanks

Re: Looking at a 1985 CUCV Blazer
I like the rims on them...
agree that if it's not a steal then pass ($500), plan on a new gas engine at the worst or lots of diesel parts at the best... 3.08 gearing... and a stripped interior www.govliquidation.com and search in your area for m1009 (blazer) or m1008 (K-30 w/D60 and lockers) You can buy K-30's for $1500-$2500 on their. The blazers should be less.

Re: Looking at a 1985 CUCV Blazer
Thanks all. For some reason I thought they were good and had heavy duty axles, etc.
I guess it's all relative.

I have driven quite a few of these, most have low miles but remember that the gov buys the cheapest parts. glow plugs/controllers, alternator, batteries are common issues. one key starts all CUCV's though, sometimes gov liquidation says "no keys" or "does not run". you'll get those a little cheaper of course. trucks had 4.56 gears and only run about 55-60mph without larger tires.
