There's a possibility there aren't any holes. I have converted a 69 to auto and bought one already converted. I have a 71 that came from the factory with 3ott. All 3 frames had holes for the auto bracket.

Take some pictures of the frame behind the front driver's side shock so we can see what you're looking at/for.
