Please help dd electrical issue
Okay guys really need someone's expertise here, I did my burb front clip swap this weekend and now my truck looks TOTALLY SWEET!!! but i remember reading somewhere on here that tha pigtail's on tha burb are different than tha ones on my stock harness but since every wire was color coded u could simply just cut them and match them up 2 ur stock harness and it would work, so thats wut i did and everything was going great! i started wit tha driver side and everything matched up and that side is workin perfect... but once i got 2 tha passenger side tha pig tail from tha burb did not match up and now i have like 2 or 3 wires from my stock harness that are just sitting there and not bein used cause tha burb pigtails only have 2 wires coming from them. and now when i turn my headlights on tha driver side works perfectly but tha passenger side has BOTH headlights on and makes them look real dim or low looking(bout half tha power of tha driverside) i dont kno wut tha extra wires are 4 and ive had some people say its missing a ground, but i checked both wires from tha pigtails and they both have power so i dont know where tha groung is???? if n e one knows n e thing that could help me out i would appreciate it very much. all suggestions are welcomed!! i need 2 figure something out asap cause i cant reallly drive it at night because of this. also feel free 2 harass me bout my stupidity LOL i kno i must of mess up somewhere in this wiring nightmare!!

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
If the lights work but are dim, there is a poor ground somewhere. You could substitute your own ground and check for proper function. Doesnt really matter if it is wired as factory so long as it works. I will post links for the burb wiring to try to give you something to go by.
here is one for quad halogen lights http://alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V1...7626/144722062 here is one for base model http://alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V1...7626/144721571 And here is utility model. Which is the same as the crew cab. http://alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V1...7626/144722117 Hopefully it will help.

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
well tha driver side works like its suppose 2 but tha passenger side has both healights on at tha same time instead of just 1. and they are both very very dim. acutally causing tha whole pass side lights 2 b dim like tha blinker and tha healights.

Yo! Mr Scary!
I'd guess your best bet is going to be to post this on the '49 to present "electrical" forum and someone might be able to supply you with either the solution or the electrical diagrams of both trucks. Unless you trace out each wire from the front clip, this could be a nightmare,...but you could surely do that. Anybody done the same swap with the solution? Todd.

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
How did you run the wiring? The clip I swapped I used most of the 89 wiring, and matched the colors up at the plug to the firewall. I swapped it onto an 86, there was a wire to the brake switch that had to be pulled out of the original harness to be reused.

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
well kept all of tha wiring tha same in my truck all tha way up 2 tha pigtail's and just cut the old pigtails off and cut tha burb pigtails off and matched tha colors of them and crimped them 2gether. I am now assuming that was wrong, should i have pulled tha entire wirining harness out of tha burb and swapped it wit mine? if so i messed up really bad then = (

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
That's just how I did it. All of the colors pretty much matched up.

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
I don't know if there is something spliced towards the radiator support or not. Pull the wires out of the loom and see. If so, duplicate the splice and that might fix the problem.

Re: Please help dd electrical issue
fix it-p tha clip is an 89 and tha passenger side only has 2 wires from tha pigtail from tha burb and tha original pigtail from my truck harness has like 4 wires so i just connected tha 2 that matched and tha other 2 extra wires are kinda just sitting there till i find out where they go
