Question Blazer or Suburban?

I like my truck so much, I want another.. this time a 4x4. What do you guys think.. k5 or a Suburban? I have 2 kids, and they'll fit in either, so that's why I'm not going the truck route this time.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

Can't go wrong with the suburban. I bought mine to fit 3kids and haul more tshirt boxes or a couch or lawnmower etc.
Alot cheaper and easier to find then the swbcrewcab that I want to build.

Here are some pics: my 2yr old son usually sits in the far back seat, but sometimes I take out the rear bench to load boxes and so then all 3kids sit in the middle. as you can see mine are little babies.

And when I really need alot of room and don't have the kids then my middle seat just folds down so then it's like havinig an 8ft truck bed.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

How old are said kids? Burb will be harder to park, but easier to get kids in the back.

There is not much room to get in the back of a K5 and buckle your kids in car seats. I have tried it, since I got mine so the family could ride in the hot rod. For a toy it wouldnt be so bad, a daily on the other hand would be like putting them in the back of a mustang or camaro. Been there done that too, and ya it got old fast.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

I'd prefer a K5, but like the others mentioned the suburban would be easier to get the kids into. I think you can find a really nice 88-91 suburban for a lot less money than a k5, and they come stock 3/4 ton (nice used 8 lug wheels/tires are cheap and everywhere)

side note : Any news on the 2wd 73-80 blazer shirts?

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

In a suburban you have a choice of seating tho ,remove rear 60/40 split and floor hardware etc,and use the 3rd seat ,i even removed the middle plastic console, allowed the dog and kids to roam free and lots of leg room , makes for easy step in entry/side loading. With out 60/40 split in mine fits a full size bbq straight in standing up,no dissasembly required, behind the drivers seat, still lots of room to pack for the ROAD TRIP .Works great that way to sleep, camping in the (rain)6 foot bed.....velcroed in the flag/curtain .lol ya got a pic too ,my hairy winch

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

Why would you need to remove the 60/40 seat and hardware??? it just folds down flat.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

I think a Suburban just might be too much vehicle really.. my kids are 1 and almost 3. And it would be a fun toy so as long as they fit back there, I'm leaning toward the k5. Now finding one in decent shape is another issue!

you have a couple nice rides there. I love lifted 'burbs. Either way its going to be a 4x4 since I already have a 2wd swb.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

welp, I just paid bills and walked out into my garage with boxes everywhere... that usually cures any of the impulse buyer in me.. lol.. No 4x4 square for me right now.. maybe someday.

Plus.. as much as I would love a 4x4.. I just cant justify it.. we get snow a few times a year.. no enough to really need a 4x4.

I think I'll focus on a nice true dual exhaust system for the truck I have, since I'm running a single cat system now.

Thanks all for my therapy session! Back to reality..

well he sold the k5 yesterday... maybe that was a sign. lol

I thinking suburban now.. cheaper than the k5's I'm seeing, plus easier to haul family and stuff.

Re: Blazer or Suburban?

If you are looking for a cheap 4x4 Sub, keep an eye on the CL here in DFW. They used to be everywhere, so there has to be a few left.
