airbagit.com kit opinions?

I'm going to go look at a truck this weekend and It has a airbagit.com kit on it. What is going to be useable and what should I just throw away?

Here's the kit.

Look on fullsizechevy.com and type in airbagit. They do not recommend them, I have no personal experience with them so I can't say anything bad or good about them.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

airbagit.com is one of the many spin off companies of AIM industries.. They have had a bad rep for years... Horrible quality, Poor customer service, and a 35% restocking fee with the customer paying all shipping cost..

You can do a search on just about any truck related site and you'll find tons of negative info on them..

A few yrs ago i ordered a valve manifold. Within 3 months i blew 4 seals in the valves. Also ordered a custom rollpan. They sent me the wrong rollpan and wouldnt let me return it cause i had "opened the box". They have about a 15yr rep of ****ty customer service and crappy products.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

Thanks for the response guys. I didn't relize AIM & airbagit are one in the same. I figured it was crap since it didn't list brands or detailed discriptions of what you were getting. Thanks for the confirm.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

Wouldn't recommend them. Been ripped off on dropped spindles about 5 years ago. Ordered 3" drop spindles for a 66 and got a set that were disc spindles, when we called the salesman told us to go look at what we have in the garage and that all 66 c10's came with disc brakes and stop arguing and hung up on us. We tried all sorts of c10 as well as chevy ball joints and disc setups and none of them worked. Even looking through the moog catalog, nothing matches the taper of the balljoint that we got, so basically we got duds. Closest we could find was a 76 malibu brake caliper with a c10 hub and a 66 balljoint fit once we reamed out the holes for them by hand with a file until they fit. That setup didn't last long at all, so unsafe. Oh yeah, and the truck was 5" off the ground before hand, and layes crossmember now, so the 3" were actually a 5" drop.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

Well I wish I had know all this before I bought the kit from them. I went to a bunch of sites and read a lot of comments. I will say this there were some upset people a few years ago but it looks like the company is doing much better with customer service and their products after reading some of the more recent posts.. I can't say much about the products as I am installing my first one.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

Aim, Chassis Tech, Airbagit.com are all one in the same. They have had poor quality product and horrible customer service for years.

Since Joe Marrow has "allegedly" retired he has been making a concentrated effort to clean up the trail of garbage he has left behind.

I still wouldn't buy anything from them based on my previous experience. I learned from burn and it was a lesson I won't forget.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

i have only bought one thing from them ever, and it was drop keys for my 98 suburban. no problems so far...but i will never buy any air ride part from them just because of the horrible reviews i have read. i dont make my money to toss around and chance on something that has been known to fail. better to get it right the first time and be done with it.

www.***************** <------ best company by far. excellent customer service, and have just about everything you need.

If trucks were women, AIM would be a venereal disease.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

and while were on the bad companys I'll say FBI customs too. they are a rip off and have bad stuff and horriable service. I have been screwed over by them and so has several other people.

I wouldn't buy air ride from anyone but Suicidedoors, air ride tech, Most of the big name shops that install, but your going to pay there price so buy from the vendor. I dont know much about the lowrider sites. But if the bags aren't Airlift or Slam I wouldn't buy them. A lot of people go with firestone and I haven't had a problem with them, that's what we use on our military trucks. and most 18 wheelers use them. For valves it has to be SMC, GC, ridetech red valves, AVS, and theres some more, but those are the best. Dont get Danz valves, they are cheap china brand. Viar is your best compressors.

Check with SD they have all these brands and it's the best of equipment they sell.

Re: airbagit.com kit opinions?

ASCO Red Hat/Parker & SMC are the only two valves to even consider.
