suspension help needed

I posted this in the suspension section a while back but there was no response, so I will try here.

I put 56" rear springs on my 71 k20. Well half way, I have the front mounted and the diff back under, but the rears are still loose. I am considering a shackle flip. I have some front spring hangers from the donor truck. I don't have any load so I don't know exactly where to mount the hangers. Info needed here. I was planning to mount the rear hanger with the 56" distance center hole to center hole.

The second thing is that i want to use my old 52"s for the front. I have found posts of this on toyota's, but not here. Has anyone done this? When I measured things our, it looks like I move the rear mount right next to the cab mount, maybe even trim a little from the mount. Remove the 2 rivets holding the front mount to the rad support and build a new mount for that. What do you think?

shackle flip from offroad designs mount in stock holes if you swap left and right for the 56'' springs i used 4'' lift ones on my burb nice. but did have to use a wedge to adjust pinion angle not to hard.

on a first gen I am not sure but I usually set up my shackles straight up and down with no weight on the truck. This might end up at to steep of an angle for you this will give you about a 20 to 30 degree angle on the shackle, great for flex but some think it makes the truck a little less stable, I have never had a problem

As far as the 52s up front once gain not sure no the first gens but on second gens its super simple. You might have to play with that one a bit.

Yes tons of guys run 52s up front I am just not too familiar with the first gens

It should work but you may have to do some leveling and adjusting of the pinion angle as mentioned before. I re-drilled the hole for my front upper shackle hanger with a hole saw. Not a big deal - just make sure you measure 10 times before you drill! Check out my build thread for some good pics if interested.

Thanks, I found a great deal on some standard length 4" lift springs and bought those.
