I will be watching for more (less blurry) pics once you get it all buffed and out of the shop. But it looks good from what I can see.

Cool. I look forward to that. Did you spray that in the shop or you have a booth? How did you like Chromabase? Decent paint for sure, and smells good too.

Re: sneak peak oldschools 85

no paint booth, thats the main reason for the cut and buff. Its good stuff it covers really well. I use ppg paint most of the time but went with the dupont cause I was hoping to get the whole truck shoot with one gal. and since it is a long bed and I did under the hood the inside of the fenders and the inside of the cab I will get it all done. Price wise I think it was like 150. between the base, clear, hardner, reducer, got some sealer for the new doors.....it was around 400 bucks........it looks real good, and it looks better to me since it only cost me 400 bucks and when its all said and done 40 hours of prep,paint,sanding,buffing...........but my god do I love doing this S**T.

Look-n-good there OS

I bought two gallons of Dupont's Nazon for my 74 and have been worried about having enough for a full color change like you did, Do you feel good about the coverage you got with one gallon ?

Just trying to put my mind at ease since I had a stock color altered to suit me.....

Keep the pics comin !!!

I love black trucks but man are they hard to keep clean. I have a lot of appreciation for the effort you guys put in just to make these look as good as they can.

Re: sneak peak oldschools 85

Here's mine. I love black too. I did this in color coat, clear coat with a bunch of metal flake in it and perl with more clear. I still have to wet sand and buff out, but that will have to wait for money. I have to add here that I personally didn't paint any of the stuff you can see, only the interiour. The guy who painted it did let me do the frame prep and finishing with POR. The rest of it he did. All factory sheetmetal used for replacement except hood (origional) cab ( origional) and front box wall (origional) box floor and inner fenders are LMC. The running boards are on now and the winch is tucked up under the back end. Enjoy, jim

rob.....is that two gal. you bought mixed or not, cause if it is not mixed then you would have 4 gal. mixed and that should be enough to paint your truck and your neighbors.

Re: sneak peak oldschools 85

Rob, TY very much for the compliment. Slick, I do have more photos but they are pretty much the same as you see here. I have a bunch of pics of the work in progress but they are all to big to put here. Suffice it to say, and Bob will back me up on this, I live smack-dab in the middle of the rust belt, so resturation was a major project. I figured it will be the last vehicle I will own, and it treated me real good over the years, I was going to do right by her. jim
