oil pump is out.
so i got under the truck today to try and take off the pan and there is a cross member in the way. im going to have to take the motor out a bit to get to it. at least im pretty sure of it anyway.
the sucky part about it is me and my friends were all supposed to goto tahoe this weekend. im going to stay behind and try and get this done. i have a cherry picker at my house and i just need some chain for it. would anyone be willing to give lend me a hand? i could give you some extra money on top of whatever gas you spend and also supply the beer and food. im in santa rosa right off of hwy 12 on sonoma. i know its short notice but its worth a shot. thanks |

Re: oil pump is out.
These are the key words when asking for help lol ^^
I'd help you out but I am about 5.5 hours away. I'm sure someone will chime in in your area. Good luck with the fix, I had my Duramax in for warranty work and they had to lift the engine to change the pan gasket as well. I remember thinking who the hell designed that setup, what an idiot. Well the guy that designed your truck must have a son working for GM engineering that designed my duramax lol. Some things never change.

if it's a V8 all you need to do is lift the engine about 2-3inches to get the oil pan off//i'm not sure whats needed for the six cylinder tho

Re: oil pump is out.
make sure the keyway on your crank is in the 6 o'clock position, it will be easier to clear the crankshaft that way.
