Need Info on Instrument Clusters

Hi everyone, I have a question about the inerchangeablity of the guage clusters from the 73-87 pickup trucks. The reason why I ask is because I recently changed out the entire wireing harness in my 78 to a wireing harness out of a 77. I am wondering if my 78 dash will work??? The dash is a warning light only type. But the 77 truck I took the harness out of had full instrumentation. I would use the 77 dash but it is broken and non useable.

The big difference will be that 77 had a mechanical oil gauge. You will need to run a wire for the electric sending unit.

I was under the impression that several wires were in different locations.

If you haven't already found out, the wiper wiring, switch, and motor are completely different between '77 and '78.

That was what I was thinking yeah I saw that the wiper switch was different I changed it out with the 77 one But I did not know that the wiper motor was different guess I may have to change it out as well.
