Stepside fuel filler hose?

The PO of this 80 stepside I just picked up has radiator flex hose as a fuel filler, and it's not even close to making the curve it needs from the tank to the fender filler inlet. I can't find a specific stepside hose offered on any site, but I have seen the fleetside hoses.

Are the stepside and fleetside filler hoses the same?

Re: Stepside fuel filler hose?

because i was in a bind when i swapped out my gas tanks and a certain vendor sent me improper parts i was able to fabricate the filler lines using the metal in the fleetside gas tube ( of which i had a couple extra) and going to a mom and pop auto parts store and using curved radiator hoses to make the correct hose. Its not the prettiest but it is functional

Re: Stepside fuel filler hose?

what about using the spring like material you put over the hose which will allow you to bend the hose w/o kinking it. I pulled my bed off and before I could say anything my dad had a knife and cut the hoses off. Probably would have to anyways. so that is waht I am going to look into

Re: Stepside fuel filler hose?

I was at Year One yesterday and I think they have it. The part is described as a 77-80 (or something) stepside filler hose, but the guy seemed a little leery. We'll see when it gets here- I think they order it from GM. It was $40, but worth it if it's correct.
