Did some sound deadening.

I finally got to make some more progess on the project this weekend. Bought 100' of FatMat. My interior was already gutted and I had some body work done at the local shop so now it was time to start the process of putting the interior back together.

Take your time with this stuff and it will turn out nice. I made some cardboard stencils for the tricky areas so that I didn't have a frankenstein when I was done. Probably took me about 6-8 hours total. Turned out pretty good I think. Have a look!!

I know there is plenty to choose from when it comes to this kind of product. My two cents on FatMat are that 1. It doesn't stink 2. It sticks like gorilla glue to a [I]clean[I] surface 3. It only cost me $129 for 100'. I really have no cons to speak of.

Last pic of final approval from the bosses

Looks great! nice job.

I'll keep my eye on this post for the final test. I'm wanting to do mine as well, looks like a good choice of material.

Re: Did some sound deadening.

did you roll it also...it doesn't look like you did...it would work alot better if you rolled it...it'll adhere better and more uniformly...at my shop I have installed Fatmat into no less than 30 cars...roll it and it'll sound better or quieter if you like...lol

Re: Did some sound deadening.

It is rolled out for sure. I may go over it again in some spots because it was around 55-60 in the garage, but it adhered extremely well. No complaints.

It will be a while until I get to road test it. I still need to do wiring and get carpet as well. Add to the fact that all that costs money and it will be a few months until all the stars align. But I will update the post when the time comes.

Looks Great! Did it take the whole 100 feet for that?

Re: Did some sound deadening.

No, probably about 60-75 feet. I used the scraps when I could. Saved a lot of waste. I have enough left over on the second roll to do the doors at least. 100' is plenty to do the entire cab. Hope this helps.

Re: Did some sound deadening.

I like the idea that it doesn't stink. I'm just starting on my interior, this looks like the ticket along with the brown OE mat.

My exhaust gives an irritating resonance on the drivers side maybe this will eliminate that.

Re: Did some sound deadening.

That's great, it looks really good. Does anyone have any experience using this stuff in place of a headliner or above a headliner? Does it make a noticeable difference?
