Heater Core
Well I believe my heater core is gone bad. I washed the '65 yesterday during the beautiful spring like day in Ga., then took her out for a spin. When I got back home I raised the hood just to take a peak and noticed atifreeze leaking on the inner fender under the box where the heater hoses go. Further looking around, I saw the bottom of the heater box (or whatever it's called) looked wet and where both halves are, it looked like atifreeze coming from the seam.
I guess I can't complain, as far as I can remember my dad never put one in it since he had bought it from his brother (original owner) back in early 70's. Is the heater core a pretty simple task on these jewels? Does it sound like the heater core to you or am I missing something? Thanks guys for all info. |

Re: Heater Core
Sounds like a heater core and their easy to service and easy to get. After it has cooled down , disconnect the heater hoses. Unscrew the top cover, then clean out the leaves and other accumulated junk under the cover. There's two straps holding the heater core in place.
