55-57 fender difference?

Hey guys.Looking for some help.

My truck is a 56 GMC but i want to run a chevy front end.Got a good deal on a set of 55 chevy front fenders the other day.
Now,i have been told there is a difference between the 55 fender to the 56/57 fenders,i just can't figure out what it is.
Will my 57 chevy grill work with the 55 fenders?
Does anyone know if i can use my gmc core support,or if i need a chevy support?

Thanks in advance.

the 57 fenders have a bolt hole in the front of them where the grill goes in order to bolt the grill to the fender. Bolt hole location for the emblems differ on the three years too. other than that they are the same.

yes a 57 grill will work on 55 fenders. but not with the top and bottom valance. the 57 top valance have indentions with bolt holes in it and the bottom is also different.

Re: 55-57 fender difference?

How about 58-59 core supports? My original 59 Chevy had broken cross braces. I got a 58-59 GMC in better condition. Looking at them and standing them next to each other I cannot see any differences. I'd hate to spend a bunch of time cleaning and painting something and not be able to use it. Thanks
