cracked intake?

just heard these integral intakes can crack.

I just went out and fired it up. i sprayed carb cleaner every where on the intake. The only place i see a problem is where it mates to the exhaust manifold.

Re: cracked intake?

Is there not a metal gasket that can be replaced between those two components? I think you might have a fairly easy fix.

Re: cracked intake?

They usually get burned and or rusted between the intake and exhaust manifolds. Sometimes even a new gasket won't get it to seal and you have to take the two manifolds to a machine shop to have them machined flat again to get a good seal.
