Re: 'Yard dog gets a wing.
I did some SWAG type engineering trials, watching how the fog and rain flowed over the cab, to the wing and over the trailer. At speed, it seemed to break into three pretty much equal parts of the airflow. Under the rig and to the sides at about the top of the bumper, up at the base of the windshield and up again just below the leading edge of the wing.
The exhaust from the stacks is pretty hard to see but a short run with the car trailer showed no smut on the front of the trailer, as there was before the wing.
I made provisions for adjusting the wing angle, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I did learn that rain on the wing is NOISY, you can hear it plainly, even over the stack noise. (flappers) Also, the tail lights on the wing mount reflect off the trailer front, in the dark, and bounce off the tool box top to the wink mirror. Kind of a dazzling red glow. I've got a slider rear window with dark tint ready to go in place of the stock one that should stop all that.
Yea, I know, I've been WAY over thinking this thing, but a Kaam style ducktail is in the works for the trailing edge of the 32 Ft trailer top. A couple of marine style vents at floor level in the trailer and the roof vents cracked, I might get a little airflow through the trailer, maybe. RED
