Before & after photos
Well thought I would post some before and after photos of my '62 Stepside. Finally got the disc brake conversion finished, and wheels and tires mounted. All I need to do now is get an alignment (CAMBER WAY OFF!!) and tighten up the torsion bars a little to get it a bit more level. Next I move on to the engine - not sure if I'm going to keet the 235 PG, or go 350/350. The six runs fine and it's a little rare with that combo. Thanks for lookin and let me know what ya think.

Re: Before & after photos
That looks a lot better. It's amazing what a set of wheels and a little chrome will do for a truck.

Re: Before & after photos
I'm going to try and paint the chains with Chrome Bumper Paint - The bumpers are new... A LOT CHEAPER than trying to have them chromed.

Re: Before & after photos
The funny thing is that the changes are subtle, but very good. Like the mirrors and the bit of chrome really dresses her up. Kudos for adding the badging to the cowl panels. I think it looks too strange to keep the badging off. It adds to the truck in my opinion. And speaking of opinions.... I would keep the 235/PG.... You don't see that every day while the 350/350 swap is super common nowadays.

Re: Before & after photos
Yeah, I like the badging too, just hope I don't confuse too many people with the '62 badging & '64 Grill I'm leaning on keeping the 235/PG especially after the PAIN of putting on the Power Disc Brakes (LOWER BALL JOINTS NOT FUN) just want to drive for awhile.

Are you going to keep the 62 grille?

looks really good...the chrome & wheels really set it off...have you thought about using a correct year (1962) grille in chrome?

Honestly I think it looks great, but I love the OG caps, black wheels and 62 grille.

Re: Before & after photos
A 63 grill would look great too. Plus it would look more correct (or is that less incorrect). Don't get me wrong. I like your truck.

Re: Before & after photos
Since I was a kid making model cars I've probably commented a zillion times - wheels and tires always make the car. What a remarkable improvement. I like the chrome grille, bumpers, mirrors, etc. That bit of sparkle really makes the white paint pop. The earlier pics look like a nice clean utility/industrial vehicle. Now it looks like something that is loved by its owner.
I agree with the 63 grille comment, it happens to be my favorite Chevy grille of all the 60-66 models, and "fits" with the windshield and would make it appear like a 63. In reality however, the chance of finding a affordable mint chrome 63 grille probably isn't any easier than finding a mint chrome 62 grille.

Re: Before & after photos
Silvered Anodized Aluminum. Chromed would have been a painted grille in the beginnings of it's life. Ok, I'll shut up now. I don't toss around stuff about your years now do I.LOL

Re: Before & after photos
You know, I haven't even checked yet, been to busy getting the darn brakes done. I think they're 3.38 though. Been meaning to check out the number on the axle, maybe tonight, I'll let you know.
