Turn key truck 47-52

Does anyone remember the name of the company that was selling a turnkey 47-52 chevy trucks. They could come with ford or chevy drivetrains. It seems like they were Southern Comfort trucks or something like that. They were supposed to have them on the market I believe last year. There was an article in Classic Trucks or its sister magazine a couple of years ago. Thanks for the help.

Nice site... You'd think for the price of the trucks they'd be able to get somebody to check their punctuation & grammar.

Nope, they are currently on hold due to the economy. I know a guy who put down a deposit. He asked for his back and got it with interest earned. Hope things improve, I have seen the prototype, and may have a deal to produce some parts for the production vehicle. Jay

Re: Turn key truck 47-52

They are called a "draw latch". Looking quick on line I could not find that model but if you search deep enough you can probably find one like it. It might be a marine application for holding down hatches.

Thats unusual, Kaplan doesn't strike me as that type of guy, and he has put in a wad of his own money into this project. All of the deposits that were taken are being held and not used as capital for the project. The prototype was built abut 60 miles from me by some guys I know. We have a tentative deal to provide bed wood, strips and bolts to Southern. They were in the process of epa certifying the power train before they slowed the project. I hope they get back on track when things pick up. Jay
