Hooking up a factory tach
I found an original factory tach for my 60 shortbox that I will be installing. My truck currently has a 350 with HEI. I assume I need the Sun sending unit but iI know these are set up for points ignition. Is there a way I can do this with my HEI or do I have to convert back to points? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Hooking up a factory tach
Run a search for Sun sending unit conversions (mercury battery to 12V). I believe the outfits that do these conversions also fix them to work with HEI.

Re: Hooking up a factory tach
call APT Instruments-they converted a points type 64 GTO tach to HEI cost around $175.
