Help with my new 68 DD

Hey guys... I am having alot of ideas running through my head about my truck. I am focusing on getting the suspension right and the brakes done up.

I have a 1968 C-10 SWB that I am setting up to be a daily driver and also be able to pull my car trailer when I want to take my street/strip car to the track. What ideas do you guys have for my situation? I was thinking a 2.5" spindles on the front with 4" springs in the rear. If I went that route what else would I need that I am not thinking about? Any particular manufacturers better than others? Talking about drop spindles and brake setups.

Let me know your guys opinions!

thanks
CHRIS

Chris- You need to take a look at what forum Team Member Scoti has on his 68. He is running bags on the rear rather than springs. It allows him to adjust his ride height, and air up fr towing.

The front is SOP. I prefer to get as much drop from spindles as possible. It seems that the 67-72 crowd goes for 2.5" spindles.

Re: Help with my new 68 DD

I hear you there! I will definetly check out what he has going! Thanks alot.

I was definetly looking at some 2.5 spindles and possibly a 1 inch spring and maybe 4 inch out back if I stay static. Gonna check out all my options!

thanks
CHRIS

Re: Help with my new 68 DD

The 2-1/2 drop spindles fit well. Anything more than this and you run the risk of hitting the wheels on the arms when you turn. Some times you have to cut a section of the lower control arm in order to use a 3inch spindle.
