gas tanks

allright.. i got a newb question.

how much gas does each tank hold?

i put thirteen gallons in the lefty yesteday before a good long drive and
18 gallons into the right one.. wtf? both were 'empty"... and struggeling to get to the gas station 300 yards away...

so wtf is the pump screwed or do i really not know what my gas tanks hold..
(i thought it was 15 each)

Re: gas tanks

Plus you have to figure with how long the tank is, how accurate do you think the float will be at lower levels. With my new tank and sending unit its not uncommon for my gauge to swing from half to empty and back to half again during acceleration and cornering.

Could have 1 16 and 1 20. Funny how things get changed over the years. Jay

Re: gas tanks

thanks for the back up John!

I have a non-EFI 16 gallon tank in my crew with EFI....I don't dare run much below a quarter of a tank, so i barely have 12 gallons of usable fuel storage
I need to get me some EFI duals.
