Fireman here, guys. The only reason to check one is if you plan on recharging it. Bottles have a date stamp, and are supposed to be pressure checked about every 5 years. I don't think anyone would fill and pressurize one that old. I would think it would be for "looks" only. Also would think that it would have to be empty to be shipped. Good luck...
