swapping 5 lug suspension to 6 lug frame
I am wanting to swap my 5 lug suspension over to my 6 lug frame. I am having to do this due to a titling issue and I want to retain the 5 lug suspension.
A little info: I have a 70 cab and frame with a clear title and a 72 complete truck that cannot be titled..I found this out today. I am not going to tamper with the vin swap but I am going to be allowed to get a new vin through KY with a rebuilt title in my name..which I am OK with just to get it on the road. OK with that being said, what all is involved with taking a bare 1970 6 lug frame and swapping everything from a 72 5 lug frame? I have searched but the general thing to do is the 73-87 swap since most people do not have a complete donor truck. So is it all just bolt on and go or will it not work? I am hoping it will, that way I can restore the frame before I put the body on. Thanks in advance. |
