Is something wrong here? thought I'd be lower...

Just installed plates, cups, 2600 lb bags and the control arms are still about 1-1.5" off the ground? I have 3" drop spindles, 245-40-20 tires, I assumed I'd be able to get the control arms on the ground or at least very close. It looks like the bag is just bottomed out, shocks not holding it up either. Ideas?

Ive read about people taking 1" to 1.5" off

What cups are you running? Have you checked the bump stops? Are your tires hitting the fender liners? With a 3" spindle, Ride Tech cups, and the fender liners removed, my 82 Blazer would lay the A-arms hard.

Re: Is something wrong here? thought I'd be lower...

It looks like if I take any more off the cup the bag is going to rub on the LCA. Actually it looks like bag is just bottomed out, damn I was hoping it would be an inch or two lower. I may have to pull the LCA and weld in a pipe so I can lose the cups.

You can do that if you like, but it's not necessary. You are hitting somewhere.

I thought it should lay out but I cant see where what the problem might be? I took the inner fenders out and I cut all the bump stop bracket out. I have porterbuilt 2" cups but I think the top plates might be wrong because when I look at other setup's it looks like my bag is pushed further toward the spindle. Either that or I got the wrong bags and they are too big to sit in the LCA?

I "think" the Ride Tech cups are shorter so that might make a difference. The upper plates do bring the bag as far to the outside as possible.

I think my cups were at like an 1-1/4 when i had my c10. I think most people on here are running around 1.25-1.5 tall cups

They aren't "cut down" that's just the height they offer. To order them, check with any of our forum vendors that are Ride Tech dealers, or go direct to the Ride Tech site.

Have you actually removed the shocks yet to make sure they aren't holding her up? Sometimes they can look like they aren't restricting the amount of dump... I would remove them just to test it out. Even with the cups at the height you requested you should be lower than that.

Yep, I took them out completely. Just to see what if the cup was holding me up I took them out and it came down another ~1" til the tire hit the blower motor/ac box, removed that stuff and the LCA is still ~1" off the ground. I think my upper ball joint might be the problem?

Thats what I was thinking, what do I do now? try a better brand of ball joint? Or am I going to have to stup up and get tubular arms that fix the ball joint angle? I bought 20" wheels so I would have to worry about a bunch of extra work/money getting it low. Damn

I'll get some more pictures soon, there were no cups installed when I took that picture of the ball joint

Just thinking out loud here but do you have any shims in your upper control arm?

The BJ angle is way to much. Probably whats holding you up and even if its not it should be corrected.

There are a ton of shims in the upper arm, I'll try pulling some of them out and see if that helps.
