Frame differences 1/2 3/4 AD trucks
I know the rear half the frames are different, the 1/2 is shorter and the rails flare out were the 3/4 is straight. But am wondering if the frames are different in the front? Is the rail height and depth the same?
Am planning out an IFS install on my 49 3/4 and wondering if I will come across any challenages due to frame differences as the IFS are all patterned off of 1/2 ton trucks. Right now am leaning towards a Heidt's MII Thanks...Eric

Re: Frame differences 1/2 3/4 AD trucks
Yes, the 1/2t and 3/4t are pretty much the same from the front cab mount forward. Any IFS kit that fits 1/2t will fit your 3/4t. the frame rail material is a little thicker on the 3/4t, .173" compared to .158" and don't be shocked if you have to fit the boxing plates a bit, as the forming is slightly different. We make a nice IFS for these as well. But onli in coil-over, or air bag, not in a coil spring and shock. www.nolimit.net
