87 Sierra 4x4 Fuel Injector Pod issue

Dear everyone,

I just finished posting my introduction thread in another part of the forum and surprise... I have a question. I just purchased a 1987 sierra 4x4, the engine is a TBI 350(I believe), I'm doing some other safety certification work(brakes, etc.) on the truck and left the vehicle for a week and now the Injector pod sprays no fuel when turned over, I can hear the fuel pump cycle when I turn the ignition key, and it started a week ago with no problems. Any ideas?

Dave check the injector plugs for power. They should have power with ignition on. the ECM controls the ground to fire the injector. You may be able to find a noid light. http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/otc7187.html It will check both the power and the ecm function. It will flash as the injector cycles. Jay

Re: 87 Sierra 4x4 Fuel Injector Pod issue

I have discovered that I'm a bit of a dumb-dumb, found a shut off switch that one of the previous owners must have added, I threw the switch a few times last week and left it in the off position, went camping, then forgot about the switch until, now. Thanks for the help though.
