Nope definately time for a new trans. I would Be scared of damage to the converter and pump as well.

Oh .... I'll agree. That does not look good.

I think I'd be looking for a replacement .... soon .... really soon.

What happened?? What made you take a look?? Big burnout? Heavy duty hauling?

Truck has had a bad vibration at about 3000rpm for a while now. transmission started acting strange lately, was going to pull the pan and take a look when i saw the crack.

its a crap th350c, so it will be replaced. right now i'm not driving it.

Good luck with it buddy... hate to see it go but I know how life is. I am hanging onto what is left of my 82 in hopes of resurrecting it one day. I have come close to parting it out a few times....

CHECK your u-joint and drive shaft... this is probably what caused it to break.. You can also just get a bare case and swap the internals, or cut the bellhouseing off and put an ulta bell on it.. ITS not scrap unless its worn out.

on second thought, that crack looks like it runs into the transmission case body. If thats the case, a case swap is the only option besides replacement.

if you want to go with a regular turbo350 (with convertor) to replace it...I've got one ready to go!
