Re: Should I install a Performer Intake and 4 barrel carb on my stock 307?

My suggestion would be any of the following:

A) 500 cfm 2 barrel Holley. I know this seems strange as you're wanting to change FROM a 2 bbl, but a Holley 2bbl is performance oriented, yet very streetable.

B) 500 Edelbrock. The only good Edelbrock carb I EVER had was a 500 cfm with manual choke on a stock 350. The throttle response and fuel mileage was almost like having fuel injection. It was perfect.

C) 570 cfm Holley Street Avenger. These carbs are GREAT!! I have one on my mild cammed 350. It's a great carb. I set a tune on it 3 yrs ago and haven't had to fool with it since. It also worked great the three years prior to the resto with the stock engine. These are well built carbs designed to run on the street.

I do not recommend going bigger than the 570 cfm rating. your streetability, gas mileage and throttle response will suffer.
