74 Body on a 79 Frame

Looking to put a 74 blazer body on what might be a 79 2wd frame. The owner believes it might be a 76 or 77 but the ad said 79.

Would I have any problems if it were a 79? If I would; what are the complexities? Is there any way to ID the frame between the years?

Pictures attached, not sure if they would help.

Re: 74 Body on a 79 Frame

there are no issues at all the way to tell pre 81 frames is by the front frame horns they are rounded off unlike 81-91 that have the front section cut back at an angle

Re: 74 Body on a 79 Frame

I wanted to circle back on this one. Here is what I found out.

The frames from 73-77 have the tub mounts on the inside of the frame. Apparently in 78 this changed to the outer part of the frame when the floor changed. So if any of you are looking for information on this - this is what I found out! Good Luck!
