another ls question

If I were to run a 04 6.0 with an earlier 5 speed what flywheel would I need to use in order to bolt up my clutch. I appreciate any help I can get on this subject

Re: another ls question

I think there are flywheels made with a slight offset to use an older tranny behind an ls engine. Also, you might need a spacer between engine and bellhousing... but I might be drunk.

Re: another ls question

I know there is at least one write-up here that tells how to do it, but I wasn't able to find it with a search. Here is a thread from another forum that gives a partial list of the possible solutions.

There is also an aftermarket bellhousing that lets you keep the stock LS flywheel. This would probably be the cheapest solution if your engine comes with a flywheel and clutch. Unfortunately, I can't remember who sells it.

Re: another ls question

Here is the cheapest solution, I'm putting an older 4-speed behind a 5.3L using these parts. What transmission are you using? NV3500?
