airride\sway bar ?
Just finished installing my airride on the 'burb, I took off the front swaybar to access everything (& put on the poly bushing kit).Is any one running a front swaybar with bags in the front? So far, I don't feel a need for it- it rides great!

I assume you have a 4-way air ride system? So each bag has it's own valve(s)? That is what have on mine and I'm not running a sway bar. It handles just fine in my opinion. I did have an ECE 1-1/4" bar on it for a couple days but felt that it rode too stiff so I took it off. If you think it rides great as-is, I'd leave it off.

No sway bar here either. Not needed IMO. Plus it slows the drop time

Hmmm
We run a stock or larger front sway bar on all of our bagged 67-72 fronts. Our '72 suburban was way too loose without the front sway bar. It rides like a dream with a stock bar. Infact, we're working on a rear sway bar setup for it.

YEP,YEP, not to mention if you go extreme low IE modified pockets ect. the sway bar tends to bind a little

Our suburban bounces off the ground so hard that I'm afraid its gonna break some glass out of it. The sway bar slows it down none. Early classic makes a new set of sway bar to frame brackets that helps keep the bar more level into the A-arm bushings.

OK. I'm not bustin balls here but maybe your view of a fast drop time is different. I just checked the site out and you have a video of the burb.
http://www.accuaircontrolsystems.com/800/main.html That is a cool product. BUT by no means is that FAST up or down.

2-Speed System
The suburban has a system that you have never imagined. Its got two speeds down. So for that video it was automatically operating in slow mode so that you can obtain the target ride height perfectly. At high speed, there is no way for a switch or a computer to catch the vehicle right at the target height based on the ride height sensors. Best of both worlds. As far as up speed in the video, it has 1/2" valves with nitrogen. It is in no way limitted. The regulator was at about 110 for the video. At about 200 it blows the tires off the ground about 8 inches. I'm afraid to go much higher with the firestone bags.

To catch the burb at high speed, all it takes is money and know how. I work with high speed manufacturing and we stop mechanical equipment to the .010. easily. Granted Air bags would probably be .100 depending on the distance your valves were to the bags, pressure stabilization at the tank/inlet hose, quality of the valves, temperature, computer scan time and maybe a few other minor variables. I seriously doubt you could tell anything was off by looking. That said, cool system, and alot cheaper than the equipment I work with. I like it.

Good input 70Jimmy
Thanks for your input, sounds like you know your stuff on controls. Our biggest frustration with the big solenoids, is that their minimum turn on time equals too much ride height because of the speed that the vehicle moves. It would be nice if we could pulse regulate the coil to just eak out a little air. But once those big diaphrams open, they don't want to close and collapse the coil for about 100mS. The whole cycle is just too darn much height.

We don't sell solenoids. We sell the control system. So no sales puffery intended, although glass breakage may be an over statement. Just trying to help clarify the fact that a sway bar has little or nothing to do with fall time. On the fast solenoids, the suburban has a very standard Parker 1/2" valve that is very common in the fast bag market. You can buy them for about $65 a piece almost anywhere. And yes, they do drop the suburban amazingly fast. Infact, we installed some monster bump stops to avoid the harshness of the landings. Unfortunately, it gets a lot of abuse when we demo it at shows.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH< it is gettin real funny around here now. I run my system at 250psi and it does not hop even 1" off the groun let alone 8"-- LET ME REPEAT IT DOES NOT HOP!!! There is no way in HELL you are poppin at 200psi, WELL maybe if you have no motor. If you wanna get that thing poppin you gotta run at least a 350-500psi burst rated valve and bag. But that's cool if it makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Like XXL said go PUFF PUFF someone else. Talkin about 200psi hoppin, heheheheheheheheh LOL LOL LOL LOL:p

Actually my buddies 65 short bed gets off the ground at 170psi of AIR not nitrogen. Let alone its only an inch or 2 but it does get off the ground with AIR. Now I know many people that run 200 psi nitrogen and get it off the ground with no problem. Now there is no reason to call out Accu Air and say he is blowing smoke up our asses. Give him some credit guys. He has built the one hell of a system and knows alot about air suspension.

IS IT MAGIC AIR? OR maybe you are talking about your buddy hopping the rear. NO WAY IN HELL you hop any v-8 truck in front with 200psi of anything.

Its no magic air- it is northern California air though. It hops the front with a 283 in it. everthing is there. What kind of valves you run INSANE- I know alot of people that run 200psi of air and hop there trucks. Now let you know this hop is not from all the way down to all the way up- the bag is haft filled then you drop it then hit it up and it comes off the ground. I will try and have him get a movie of it.

Ran into this post and thought I would put in my '50 cent' of input
The 65 does get off the ground (in the Front),no 'Magic Air', just the 'Magic Stick'. it may not hop like an Impala in Snoop Doggs Videos (those are hydos) but it does pull the front tires off of the ground with as little as 170 psi. And that is also with the 283 boat anchor and original 3 sp manual tranny in it. I know its impressive, and believe me you can scare the **** of some meat head at the car shows when you hit the switches, its funnier than watching Jackass. And as far as the Accur Air System goes, Ive seen it installed on a couple of cars and the kit is bad ass. I have seen the system in person and it is one of the best computer aided systems I have seen. Pretty trick setup for the price and easy to install, plus the guys at Accur Air are down to earth and damn cool.

I agree that there is a lot of "puffery" , "fluffery" or "Wansterism" at times on these pages, and I agree that the whole "My Buddy this and that" thing gets out of hand.
But I think that we can all agree on one thing, the WOO WOO> Its an Engineering Phenomenon taking, and no I dont have any Buddies that have one yet, but after watching this, just might have to through one in the Olds If you want to laugh until your gutt hurts peep this out http://homepage.mac.com/howheels/rubpics/woowoo.wmv and when your done with the main course, finish up with some dessert. http://lisupras.com/wooo.html
