Thumbs up Re: i still can not get the door to close

Think it will have to take a while to break in.
Make shape and form to your door.
After a while if it's still hard to close you might have to adjust the door hinges etc.

new weatherstripping always does that. It just takes a while.

Re: i still can not get the door to close

I have actually taken a ratchet strap and used it to pull the doors in tight to "smush" the seals in some. Works best on a hot, sunny day though. Time will help, but the strap works if you can leave it on a few days.

Re: i still can not get the door to close

Use a hairdryer to soften the stripping and close the door a few times so it will take a set.

Re: i still can not get the door to close

Someone correct me if I am wrong (which I am sometimes), but aren't you supposed to either "V" the ends of the weatherstripping (where the two ends meet at the bottom) or put small holes in it so the air can escape from within the rubber when you close the door?

My truck does not have door weatherstripping at the moment so I can not look at mine.

Re: i still can not get the door to close

you may need new door pins.

the bushings and then the pins themselves get worn out over time.
