transmission tunnel

Im changing over to a 2 speed power glide trans in my 65,had a stick with a high tunnel hump in the floor.I want to bring the new tunnel as low as possible but am worried about clearence and heat issues.How low can I go at front(firewall) mid and rear of ?
I have seen a few pics of a 63 low hump..,not sure what trans would have come with this truck.Can I go that low?I included the pic as this is my goal !

Hi Ron,thanks for the info.Im more than likely going to hand make the tunnel..are you able to tell me how many inches the hump drops(in the pic where the hump drops under the front edge of the bench seat)at rear,mid point and firewall?
The tin bender was supposed to get these heights earlier now the cab sits at his shop with the bare frame at mine !

You can get a low hump floor in an Automatic or 3 speed truck, cut it out wider than the crease in the 4 speed floor then bolt it in. You'll need the piece from the cowl as well. You'll spend alot of money making a custom one when there is a bounty of scrap trucks in BC for the pickings.
