s-10 odd frame size 123"?
I have found an s-10 frame in my local area and am contemplating purchasing it...but the measurements seem off to me. measured from the center of the front hub to the rear hub it is 123"? From some of the writeups I have read the 1950 P/U is 116" and the s-10 swap was the best fitting frame at 118". I'm I totally off my rocker, or measuring this frame wrong?

Re: s-10 odd frame size 123"?
looks like it is an extended cab frame and not what I need for a smooth swap. thanks for the info...man I was hoping something was being measured wrong and this was the frame I needed.

Re: s-10 odd frame size 123"?
This is an extended cab frame. You can easily grind the weld apart that would be under the doors on the cab and shorten it to the length you want. We made ours 117.5". It took 10 minutes to grind the welds out, 10 more to cut about 4 1/2" out off the tops and bottoms and about 20 minutes to use a pair of come alongs to pull it back together and measure it about 20 times. We left the sides long and bent them out a bit and made a big lap joint out of it so we increased the weld length. The plan was to drill a few holes in the lapped sides and add some plug welds but never did.

If you have a long bed AD, you could simply cut the bed sides down. I've seen this done and it looks great - you'd have to get a tape measure out to verify it's not a true short bed. Unless you're looking for that extra 5.5"...
