Fuel sender float part number
I've got a 72 custom deluxe that is having fuel issues. It is starving at higher RPM(4k+)and will sometimes die when I stop at a light or stop sign. I guess it might be because the truck was parked for almost 15 years. I have already replaced the filter and plan to change the fuel pump as well. But when I pulled the fuel sender/pickup from the tank to check the sock/filter the float was completely disintegrated.
I see that LMC has the float but I'd prefer not to buy it from them. Does anybody have any suggestions on who else has a float or a number for something else that will work? |

Re: Fuel sender float part number
Cdowns, did you buy parts specifically for a 72 or something else? What were these parts intended for?

Re: Fuel sender float part number
Bringing this back up. I bought the parts from somebody here but the float was bad and a few days after installing it, the float stopped floating.
So where can I find a float other tahn LMC? I don't want to pay $7 shipping for a $5 part. |

Re: Fuel sender float part number
You're right!. Sometimes I debate going to the other side of town to try and find a part for the truck knowing I'll spend a fin in gas and pay inflated prices at my local 67-72 dealer. Only benefit is you get it today.
