Roll bar or no roll bar

Looking for suggestions here guys. My blazer had a factory roll bar in it cause it was a 4wheel drive at one point, but now it's a 2. When I pulled the top i also took it out but now I am thinking maybe put it back? Maybe if I put it back in cut it down a couple inches but wonder if that could become a safety hazzard or just look stupid? Please chime in! Would it be worth having it in while the top is on for structural purposes? Thanks!!

Re: Roll bar or no roll bar

Im not a fan of them on 2wd but on 4wd yes it plays in,But for safety yeah, I seen one in a 2wd that looked killer they made it look like one in a convert mustang low profile and a third brake light in it nice

Re: Roll bar or no roll bar

It looks much better without it. I don't think you need to worry much about a rollover either... it's not like you're real high off the ground.

Re: Roll bar or no roll bar

Just thinkin being a shorter wheel base,it would be easier to roll a jimmy then a burb.
drove this for years without a roll bar, but it's even lower lol,and had some support

Re: Roll bar or no roll bar

I believe the reason for having one is in the back seat of your second pic also being in Utah you likely have snow and ice. I'm in favor of them since I've seen several low profile vehicles upside down this year for some reason, just a little exra insurance never hurts.

Re: Roll bar or no roll bar

ABOUT 33 OR 34 YEARS AGO I HAD A GUY RUN A STOPSIGN & T-BONE A 72. HE WAS IN A BUICK 225. I END OVER ENDED MY TRUCK ABOUT SIX TIMES. I WOUND UP BREAKING MY BACK, ALL THE RIBS ON MY LEFT SIDE EXCEPT THE TOP TWO, MY COLLAR BONE & HAD TO HAVE OVER 300 STITCHES ON MY MELON. I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH ON DRY BLACKTOP. I SURE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE A ROLL BAR THEN. I JUST FINISHED PUTTING AN 8-POINT CAGE IN MY 84 BLAZER. EVEN IF YOU'RE THE SAFEST, MOST CAREFUL DRIVER OUT THERE, YOU'RE STILL AT THE MERCY OF EVERY IDIOT YOU SHARE PUBLIC ROADS WITH. (JUST ANOTHER OPINION) JOHN
