Lifting a 292 out of the truck
Hey there everyone, I am just looking for some inputs on how to lift the 292 motor out of my truck without damaging anything? such as the rockers being hit by the chain when tension is put on it. I know it sounds stupid, but its better to be safe than sorry down the road. So any input would be great looking to do this next week, same engine going back in after rebuild. Oh and before i forget, it will be getting lifted from the passenger side of the truck currently unable to move the truck to get it from the front. Thanks

Re: Lifting a 292 out of the truck
ive lifted several 6 cylinder chevs by wrapping a long chain around the intake manifold, clearing the valve cover and then the other end to an I bolt that you can attach to the threaded hole on the front pass. side of the head. works every time without a problem.

Re: Lifting a 292 out of the truck
pretty irrelevant and unhelpful, but a family friend didnt have a lift so he used a tree as a lift for a 53 ford pickup and just pushed the truck out from underneath, hahah
