Swapping out you're entire front axle is the absolute easiest way to go. I swapped my closed knuckly drum brake front in my '68 for a Disc brake front out of a '85 Blazer. '73 and new front diffs have a slightly wider spring mount locations but it not noticable and doesn't cause any problems. They also have built in provisions for a steering stabilizer. On '75 and newer fronts diffs, you also get the advantage of 8 degrees of castor. Previous units have 4 degrees. The 8 degrees will offer better handling especially if you have any lift.
