Can't remember if '85s have OBD on them. If so, make sure to watch and see if the SES light lights up when you start it (and obviously staying on then would be a concern, but I'd also be concerned if it's not coming on that it's been disabled).

Seems like it's just standard old car stuff otherwise. Good luck. I love driving my '87!

Something to think about is your states smog reqirements. If its got to be smogged, the price should reflect the likelihood that it'll pass.

I had so many options for trucks down here that were cheap and in decent shape that it was a tough choice. I knew that they'd all need some work (they're all at least 20 years old) so just went with the one that had the least amount of work that would be hardest for me to deal with (least body work basically).

our smog laws arnt as bad as socals but I think grim626 will have some smog testing because of the county he lives in

me on the other hand I have NO smog testing
