63 power brakes
I recently purchased a power brake booster and mastercylinder for my drum brake 63 PU. The truck is equipped with standardard brakes only, not power.
The actuation rod coming from the pedal is a straight shaft with a rounded end that fit the end of the old mastercylinder. The new booster/master cylinder has a short eyebolt end that barely makes it to the firewall. Do I need to ship it back, or is there some adapter available? I hesitate to fab something due to the shortness of the eyebolt. Ideas? |

Re: 63 power brakes
I'm not aware of any aftermarket booster/master upgrades that don't require a little work to connect the pushrod to the pedal. Was this setup you bought supposed to be a original power brake unit for the '63-'66 trucks? I do sell power brake booster brackets that bolt up to the firewall without drilling holes. Then you source your own booster and master cylinder locally. With this assmebly, fabrication will be necessary to connect the booster pushrod to the pedal. I try and make sure the customer is aware of that prior to the purchase.
I would contact the seller and see what they have to say about the situation. Quote:

Re: 63 power brakes
I put factory power brakes in my '63. The rod that came with it was longer than the original manual brakes.

Re: 63 power brakes
Other than the links for brackets, I didn't find Captainfab's webpage.....
Do you have one with your products listed? I'll ship back the booster. |

Re: 63 power brakes
Sorry but I don't have any of these parts on my website yet. All I have right now are the for sale threads linked in my sig. Is there something specific you are wanting to see?

Re: 63 power brakes
I'm sending back the previously ordered master/booster, and now need to order whatever i need to convert over to power brakes. It currently only has a single master cylinder.
