Gas tank ground wire

Ok. I just want to make sure here.

My '70 GMC doesn't have a ground wire on the gas tank, but the '65 does. I just got it painted and now am putting stuff back in and I suppose this should be screwed in to the panel behind the window?

I know this is a stupid question, but before I drill this back in...somebody stupidly must have covered up whole with filler...

Thanks.

Re: Gas tank ground wire

sounds correct, all senders I have delt with have some sort of ground.
I think you are asking about the 65?
the hole for the ground wire should be on the inner window panel right above the sending unit.
**edit: also if I remember right there should be a little squared off indentation for the wire to rest in.
