LT1 TPI Swap?

So I've been kicking around the idea of EFI on my truck for quite some time, and I was over at my uncle's shop a while back and he had an Impala SS in there he was working on, I got to looking under the hood at the fuel system, it looked to be a TPI setup. I've got Vortec heads on my motor, and I got to wondering if it'd be possible/how much of a headache it would be to swap over a TPI setup off of one of those motors. Anyone got any knowledge on the subject?

Re: LT1 TPI Swap?

The LT1 and TPI (L89) are two different animals entirely. If you are wanting to adapt a TPI type intake, Scoggin Dickey sells a TPI baseplate with a Vortec bolt pattern. You can use your existing base engine, and go from there. The LT1 uses an optispark ignition and reverse flow cooling. You would be better off swapping the entire engine (I would get the 4L60 also). I had one in my '79, I liked it.
